Pakistan's women entrepreneurship conference
Wussat means expansion. After eight years of building access for women entrepreneurs, WECON 2026 asks how far that access can reach.
Be in the roomFrom a conference to a movement
Since 2017, WECON has brought women entrepreneurs, regulators, academia and industry under one roof. Each theme built on the one before it.
Called women to believe in themselves.
Brought changemakers together around what's possible.
Convened the ecosystem around equity, with 2,300+ in the room.
Shifts the focus from raising access to multiplying outcomes.
Why scale matters
female-to-male ratio of early-stage entrepreneurs in Pakistan, against a global average of 0.71.
Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, 2019of total SME lending went to women-owned SMEs in 2022.
State Bank of Pakistan, 2022of Pakistan's 5 million+ SMEs are owned by women, the lowest share in Asia.
ADB & The Asia Foundation, 2018of women-owned enterprises remain informal: unseen and under-recognised.
ADB & The Asia Foundation, 2018Regulators and women entrepreneurs work in real time on one regulatory friction drawn from WECON's policy reports, and co-design a practical framework that can be carried forward. It sets the agenda for the flagship day.

The edge of the stage comes down. Audience members step into the centre of the conversation, so it is grounded in the lived experience of Pakistani entrepreneurs and the people who support them, not a panel of experts.

The scale engine of the WECON Movement: one connective platform for women entrepreneurs, support organisations, the development sector and regulators. It brings resources, mentorship, information and opportunity into one place.
Last presented at WECON'18 and '19, the Awards recognise women building real businesses, so every woman in the room sees proof that it can be done.
The day closes with open networking and matchmaking, so every attendee leaves with connections that carry the movement's momentum forward.

The WECON Awards · 2026
Some of the strongest stories to come out of WECON started in the audience, watching someone else's name get called. The Awards, last presented at WECON'18 and '19, turned a room of entrepreneurs into a room that had just seen proof that this works.
Past honourees include Ayesha Ahmed (Pak Agri Market), Danielle Sharaf (SWITCH-ITC), Anusha Fatima (Trashit) and Tasleem Bibi (Badban), recognised for her direct impact on 425+ women.
Put your name on an awardWho will be in the room
WECON was launched by Change Mechanics in 2017 to close Pakistan's gender gap in entrepreneurship, by linking women with resources, networks, mentorship and policy access.

As the world retreated from its diversity commitments, Masawaat convened the ecosystem around equity. It also produced two policy roundtables and a national policy report.
The ecosystem we have brought under one roof
WECON is an ode to the resilient women of Pakistan, dedicated to levelling the playing field, so more women can build careers and achieve financial independence.
Equality and inclusion are at the heart of our work, so it makes sense to support efforts to unleash the entrepreneurial talent of Pakistan's women.
WECON was a reminder of how powerful learning, networking, and the right opportunities can be.
